Finding your driver should be simple, but Berlin Brandenburg Airport has two passenger terminals, several arrivals areas and different pickup procedures for taxis, ride-hailing vehicles and pre-booked transfers. International visitors sometimes walk outside too quickly, assume every driver waits at the same door or go to the taxi rank even though their private transfer instructions say something different.
The most important rule is easy: follow the meeting point written in your own booking confirmation.
First collect your baggage
Do not try to find the driver immediately after leaving the aircraft. Follow the normal arrivals process first.
Depending on where you have flown from, you may need to go through passport control. Then collect all checked baggage. Oversized items, strollers or special equipment can arrive at a separate baggage point.
Only after you have everything should you leave the restricted baggage area and proceed toward the confirmed meeting point.
This matters because your driver cannot enter the secure baggage reclaim zone.
Terminal 1 arrivals
Terminal 1 is the main BER terminal. Official airport taxis use the north and south taxi ranks in front of T1 on level E0, the arrivals level.
A private transfer does not necessarily use the same pickup procedure as a taxi from the rank. Depending on the booked partner service, you may be asked to meet a driver in the arrivals hall, near a named exit or at another clearly described point.

Terminal 2 arrivals
Terminal 2 is connected to Terminal 1 by a signposted pedestrian route. BER states that Terminal 2 has no separate taxi forecourt.
If your flight arrives at T2, do not assume the vehicle can pull directly up to the terminal doors. Follow the specific instructions provided for your transfer or, for a regular taxi, follow airport signage toward the T1 taxi facilities.
The walking connection is manageable, but with several suitcases or small children it is especially useful to know the correct meeting point before you start moving.
Meet and greet with a name sign
Some private airport transfer services include a personal greeting with a name sign. Where this applies, the confirmation should explain what to expect.
Your name may be displayed on a board or device. Check that the driver information matches what you received before entering the vehicle.
AirportTaxi.Berlin states that driver name, photo and contact details can be provided after assignment and that the partner app may show the driver’s location shortly before pickup. Availability depends on the specific booked offer.
What if you cannot see the driver?
The worst response is to start walking randomly around the airport.
Stay near the confirmed meeting point and check your phone. Look for calls, messages or driver information. Make sure your phone is not still in airplane mode.
If contact details are available, message or call the driver and describe your exact location using a terminal, level and a clearly marked airport sign.
Do not move to another terminal unless the driver or support team tells you to.
What if your baggage is delayed?
Flight tracking tells a transfer company when the aircraft arrives, but it cannot know if your suitcase is missing or if you are waiting at a baggage service desk.

If baggage reclaim is taking unusually long, contact the driver or support team before the waiting period becomes a problem.
What if the flight is early?
An early landing does not necessarily mean the driver will immediately move the confirmed pickup time forward. The vehicle may be scheduled according to the original or adjusted booking time.
Check your booking messages after landing. Do not assume an early arrival automatically means an early pickup.
Group arrivals
For groups, appoint one person as the contact. That person should hold the booking number, driver details and phone.
Wait until every passenger has collected every bag before leaving baggage reclaim. A driver should not have to coordinate separately with eight people receiving different messages.
If group members arrive on different flights, decide in advance which flight and arrival time the transfer is based on.
Families with strollers
Strollers may take longer to arrive than normal suitcases. Parents should collect them before going to the meeting point unless the airline returns the stroller at the aircraft door.
If you have booked a child seat in the transfer vehicle, check that the reserved option is available before departure and that the child is properly secured.
Save the information offline
International visitors sometimes land without mobile data. Save a screenshot of the booking confirmation, meeting point and driver contact before boarding your flight to Berlin.
Also save your hotel address. Even if you cannot open a map immediately after arrival, you will still have the essential information.
Do not accept random ride offers
BER Airport warns passengers to use designated official taxi areas because fraudulent or unofficial transport offers can occur outside them.
The same principle applies to private transfers. Use the driver and vehicle information connected with your booking. Do not follow someone simply because they say they provide airport transport.
