About Friedrichshain & Kreuzberg hotels
Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg face each other across the Spree, linked by the Oberbaumbrücke. The longest surviving stretch of the Berlin Wall, painted as the East Side Gallery, runs along Mühlenstraße, while Kreuzberg's Oranienstraße and the Landwehrkanal are known for cafés and nightlife.
Is Friedrichshain closer to BER than the city centre?
Yes. Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg lie on the airport side of the centre: the taxi covers roughly 20 to 27 km, mostly via Treptow, without needing the busy A100 section to the west. Off-peak, 30 to 40 minutes is typical. The Spree crossings near the Oberbaumbrücke and Warschauer Straße are the bottlenecks, especially in the evening peak and before events at the arena.

Along the East Side Gallery and at Ostbahnhof
- Hotel Indigo Berlin East Side Gallery – Mühlenstraße, opposite the painted wall. Mühlenstraße is a busy multi-lane road; the car stops on the hotel side.
- Locke at East Side Gallery Berlin – also on Mühlenstraße, further east towards the Oberbaumbrücke. Name the hotel to avoid stopping at the neighbours.
- MEININGER Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery – between Ostbahnhof and the start of the gallery, a two-minute walk from the station.
- Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof – Andreasstraße, on the north side of Ostbahnhof. A quieter street, good for unloading.
- Hampton by Hilton Berlin City East Side Gallery – Mildred-Harnack-Straße, in the new quarter behind the arena.
- Holiday Inn Berlin City East Side – Wanda-Kallenbach-Straße, also in the arena quarter.

Warschauer Straße and the Spree bank
- Michelberger Hotel Berlin – Warschauer Straße, right by the S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. Very busy at all hours; the driver makes a brief stop in front of the entrance.
- nhow Berlin – Stralauer Allee, directly on the river; the car stops at the entrance on the Stralauer Allee side.
- New Berlin Hotel – Petersburger Straße, on the ring road through inner Friedrichshain. Tram tracks run down the middle, so the car stops at the kerb on the hotel side.
Kreuzberg and the edge of Neukölln
- Orania.Berlin – Oranienplatz, in a corner building facing the square. One-way streets around the square mean the final approach can loop once.
- Hotel Johann Berlin – Johanniterstraße, a quiet residential street near the Landwehrkanal.
- Hotel the YARD Berlin – Alexandrinenstraße, between Moritzplatz and the Jewish Museum area.
- Hüttenpalast Berlin – Hobrechtstraße in Neukölln, just across the canal from Kreuzberg; the hotel occupies a former factory hall, so look for its sign at the street entrance.

North of Friedrichshain and in Prenzlauer Berg
- Vienna House by Wyndham Andel's Berlin – Landsberger Allee, a large hotel on the wide avenue; the car pulls over on the hotel side, clear of the tram stop.
- Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Berlin – Storkower Straße in Prenzlauer Berg, near the S-Bahn ring.
- Holiday Inn Berlin City Center East Prenzlauer Berg – Prenzlauer Allee, a main road with trams.
- Myer's Hotel Berlin – Metzer Straße, a quiet street near Kollwitzplatz.
- Hotel Transit Loft Berlin – Greifswalder Straße, in a converted factory building on the busy tram road; the car stops on the hotel side.
- The Circus Hostel Berlin – Weinbergsweg at Rosenthaler Platz in Mitte, often booked by the same travellers; allow a little more time than for Friedrichshain.

Before you book: three practical points
First, enter the hotel name exactly, because several East Side Gallery hotels share one street. Second, mention any late arrival: the driver tracks your flight number, so a delay does not cost you the car. Third, compare with the taxi rank: the meter there follows the Berlin tariff and moves with traffic, while your pre-booked total is shown before you confirm and covers the whole vehicle.
