About Ku'damm & City West hotels
City West is the former heart of West Berlin, centred on Kurfürstendamm, the Memorial Church at Breitscheidplatz and the department stores on Tauentzienstraße. North of the boulevard, Savignyplatz and Kantstraße are known for restaurants and bookshops; to the south-west lies the green Grunewald.
How long is the taxi ride from BER to Kurfürstendamm?
This is one of the longer inner-city trips from BER: roughly 32 to 38 km, almost all of it on the A113 and the A100 city motorway. Off-peak, expect 40 to 55 minutes; on weekday evenings the A100 between Tempelhof and the Funkturm junction can push it past an hour. A meter taxi from the rank would keep running through every jam, while the price of a pre-booked car is fixed for the whole vehicle.
Kurfürstendamm itself has bus lanes and a central parking strip, so drivers often stop in a side street a few steps from the hotel. More on the boulevard: airport taxi to Kurfürstendamm.
Breitscheidplatz, Tauentzienstraße and Wittenbergplatz
- 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin – Budapester Straße in the Bikini building, facing the zoo. Stop at the hotel entrance, not the mall side.
- Motel One Berlin Upper West – Kantstraße, in the Upper West tower at Breitscheidplatz, a short walk from Zoologischer Garten station.
- about:berlin Hotel – Tauentzienstraße, the shopping street towards KaDeWe; stops are short here.
- Mercure Hotel Berlin Wittenbergplatz – Welserstraße, a side street off Wittenbergplatz.
- Scandic Berlin Kurfürstendamm – Augsburger Straße, close to the eastern end of Ku'damm.
- Dorint Kurfürstendamm Berlin – also on Augsburger Straße; name the hotel to avoid a stop at Scandic.
- DoubleTree by Hilton Berlin Ku'damm – Los-Angeles-Platz, in the former Steigenberger building; the square gives the car room to pull over.
- SANA Berlin Hotel – Nürnberger Straße, south of Tauentzienstraße.
- Crowne Plaza Berlin City Centre Ku'damm – Nürnberger Straße as well, a few blocks further south.
Joachimsthaler Straße and the eastern Ku'damm
- Hotel Zoo Berlin – on Kurfürstendamm near Fasanenstraße; the driver often turns into Fasanenstraße to unload.
- Hotel Bristol Berlin – Kurfürstendamm, close to Hotel Zoo; say "Bristol" clearly.
- Lindner Hotel Berlin Ku'damm – Kurfürstendamm near Joachimsthaler Straße.
- H10 Berlin Ku'damm – Joachimsthaler Straße, just south of Ku'damm.
- Park Plaza Berlin Ku'damm and art'otel Berlin Kudamm – one building on Joachimsthaler Straße that has carried both names and now trades as Radisson RED. Whichever name is on your reservation, the driver stops at the same entrance.
- Leonardo Hotel Berlin Ku'damm – directly on Kurfürstendamm, west of Joachimsthaler Straße.
- The Hoxton Charlottenburg – Meinekestraße, a quiet side street a few metres off Ku'damm.
- Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West – Uhlandstraße, between Ku'damm and Kantstraße.
- Hotel Q! Berlin – Knesebeckstraße, a calm residential street.
Savignyplatz, Kantstraße and Hardenbergstraße
- Hotel am Steinplatz – on Steinplatz at Hardenbergstraße, near the university quarter.
- aletto Hotel Kudamm – Hardenbergstraße, between Zoo station and Ernst-Reuter-Platz.
- NH Berlin Kurfürstendamm – Grolmanstraße, close to Savignyplatz.
- Sir Savigny Hotel Berlin – Kantstraße next to Savignyplatz; the S-Bahn arches make the stop easy to spot.
- Hotel Bleibtreu Berlin – Bleibtreustraße, a leafy street just north of Ku'damm.
- Leonardo Hotel Berlin – Wilmersdorfer Straße, Charlottenburg's shopping street. Parts of it are pedestrianised, so the driver uses the nearest accessible section.
Western Ku'damm, Grunewald and towards the Messe
- Hollywood Media Hotel Berlin – on the western part of Kurfürstendamm towards Adenauerplatz.
- Provocateur Berlin – Brandenburgische Straße in Wilmersdorf, south of Ku'damm.
- KPM Hotel & Residences Berlin – Englische Straße, on the grounds of the porcelain manufactory at the edge of the Tiergarten, east of Ernst-Reuter-Platz.
- Schlosshotel Berlin by Patrick Hellmann – Brahmsstraße in the Grunewald villa quarter. The drive leads up to the house; allow a few extra minutes beyond the city motorway exit.
- Hotel Brandies Berlin – Kaiserdamm, near the trade-fair grounds. Practical for Messe Berlin visits.

Short checklist for City West arrivals
Give hotel name and street, especially where two hotels share a block (Bristol and Zoo, Scandic and Dorint). Say whether you prefer a side street to Ku'damm's bus lane. If you travel with a group or golf bags, pick a minivan when booking. Your receipt comes by email, useful when the trip is a business expense.
