About Taxi to BER airport hotels
Around BER a cluster of hotels serves transit passengers, crews and conference guests. Two stand on Willy-Brandt-Platz in front of Terminal 1, while most others are grouped around Hans-Grade-Allee near the former Schönefeld terminal or in nearby business parks.
Why take a taxi to a hotel next to the airport?
For the two hotels on Willy-Brandt-Platz, you can simply walk. For the others, a car saves you dragging cases along business-park roads, often late at night. At the taxi rank, drivers who have queued for a long time are rarely delighted by a ride of a few kilometres; a pre-booked airport taxi avoids that conversation, and the total price for the vehicle is visible before you confirm. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall, as described under meeting point.
Within walking distance of Terminal 1
- Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin – on Willy-Brandt-Platz, the square in front of Terminal 1. A short walk from the arrivals level; a car is only worth it with heavy luggage or reduced mobility.
- IntercityHotel Berlin Airport BER Terminal 1+2 – also on Willy-Brandt-Platz, within walking distance of both terminals. Not to be confused with the older IntercityHotel near the former Schönefeld terminal; check the name on your reservation.
Around Hans-Grade-Allee in Schönefeld
This cluster lies near the former Schönefeld terminal (Terminal 5), roughly 5–10 minutes by car from Terminal 1.
- Holiday Inn Berlin Airport – Conference Centre – on Hans-Grade-Allee, with conference rooms; popular for meetings that combine a flight and a day of sessions.
- Campanile Berlin Brandenburg Airport – also on Hans-Grade-Allee, a few hundred metres from the railway station by the former terminal.
- Candlewood Suites Berlin Airport – in the Mizar Gate office complex on Mizarstraße, at the corner of Hans-Grade-Allee. Apartment-style rooms for longer stays.
- Holiday Inn Express Berlin Airport – a compact hotel in Schönefeld; check the exact address on your confirmation, as several IHG hotels near the airport have similar names.
- Moxy Berlin Airport – in the Gatelands business park in Schönefeld, with its own small car park at the entrance.
Waltersdorf and Berlin-Bohnsdorf
- B&B Hotel Berlin-Airport – in the Waltersdorf business area east of the terminals, about 5–10 minutes by car.
- LOGINN Hotel Berlin Airport – on Schützenstraße in Berlin-Bohnsdorf, about three kilometres from the airport. Because the hotel is in Berlin, not Brandenburg, double-check the postcode in the address.
- Premier Inn Berlin Airport – on Alexander-Meißner-Straße in Bohnsdorf, around ten minutes by car.
Early flight: the morning ride to the terminal
Hotel shuttles, where they exist, do not always run at dawn. Book your ride to the terminal the evening before, with a pickup time that leaves a margin for check-in and security, and choose the right terminal: Terminal 1 or 2 explains which airlines use which. Some airlines also offer evening check-in, which lets you drop your bags before going to the hotel.
What to tell your driver
- The full hotel name, since "Berlin Airport" appears in almost every name.
- Which entrance: conference guests at the Holiday Inn may need the meeting-room side.
- For the return: terminal number and the time you want to be at the departures kerb.
