About Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg spans both sides of the Spree and brings together distinct neighbourhoods, nightlife and cultural venues. An address in Friedrichshain can be far from one in Kreuzberg.

Two neighbourhoods, split by the Spree
The borough consists of two very different halves joined by the Oberbaum Bridge. North of the Spree lies Friedrichshain with Boxhagener Platz, Karl-Marx-Allee and the East Side Gallery; to the south, Kreuzberg with Oranienstraße, the Bergmannkiez and the Landwehr Canal. Giving only “Kreuzberg” or “Friedrichshain” describes an area of several square kilometres. For the ride the street and house number are what count, especially if you are staying in a holiday flat rather than a hotel with a reception desk.
Old buildings, courtyards, fourth floor
Much of the borough consists of pre-war buildings, often without a lift and sometimes with flats in a side wing or rear building. Parking pressure is high and many streets are narrow or one-way, so a vehicle often stops a little short of the front door. If you have heavy luggage or a pushchair, note it in your request: it is then clear that a stop as close to the entrance as possible is needed.
