About BER to Messe Berlin
Messe Berlin's exhibition grounds lie in Westend beneath the Funkturm, the 1920s radio tower that is a West Berlin landmark. Its many halls host fairs such as ITB, IFA, InnoTrans and the Green Week, flanked by the CityCube, hub27 and the Palais am Funkturm.
How long is the taxi ride from BER to the Messe?
The grounds are in Westend, roughly 35 to 40 km from the terminal. The route is almost entirely motorway: A113 into the city, then the A100 westwards to the Funkturm junction, where the exits for Messedamm and Kaiserdamm lie right beside the halls. Off-peak, 40 to 55 minutes is realistic. On the opening morning of a big fair, or on weekday evenings, the A100 between Tempelhof and the Funkturm can push it to 60 to 75 minutes.
South, East or North: which entrance should you name?
- Entrance South (Eingang Süd) – Jafféstraße, close to the Messe Süd S-Bahn station, hub27 and the CityCube. Best for the southern halls.
- Entrance East (Eingang Ost) – Messedamm, at the foot of the Funkturm and opposite the former ICC. This is the address most navigation systems use for the grounds.
- Entrance North (Eingang Nord) – Masurenallee and Hammarskjöldplatz, near the Palais am Funkturm, the Kaiserdamm U-Bahn and Messe Nord/ICC S-Bahn stations. The taxi rank for the return trip is at the Masurenallee entrance.
Before you book, look up your hall in the fair's site plan and choose the closest entrance; between the north and south ends of the grounds it is a long walk. Messe Berlin publishes site plans on the official Messe Berlin website ↗, where the grounds are also marketed as ExpoCenter City.
hub27 and the Palais am Funkturm
hub27 Berlin is the multi-purpose hall in the south of the grounds, next to the CityCube and Entrance South. Exhibitions, congress exhibitions and corporate events take place here; tell the driver "Eingang Süd, hub27".
Palais Berlin (Palais am Funkturm) is the listed 1950s ballroom at the northern end, described by Messe Berlin as the city's largest ballroom, with room for up to about 2,400 guests at gala dinners and receptions. For an evening event there, name Hammarskjöldplatz and the Palais.

Messe hotels: staying within walking distance
- ibis Berlin Messe – Messedamm, directly opposite the ICC and the grounds. The car stops in front of the hotel.
- Hotel Brandies an der Messe – Kaiserdamm, with the U-Bahn stop in front and the S-Bahn ring one block away.
- Ringhotel Seehof – on the bank of the Lietzensee, about 500 m from the Messe Nord S-Bahn station; a quiet spot after a long fair day.
- Hotel Messe am Funkturm – a few hundred metres from the ICC and Entrance East.
- Hotel Vita Berlin-Messe – roughly a kilometre from the grounds.
Most fair visitors stay around Kurfürstendamm, 10 to 15 minutes away by car; see hotels on Ku'damm and in City West.
Fair week: when the West End clogs up
The big events fill the grounds through the year: the Green Week in January, FRUIT LOGISTICA in February, ITB in spring, IFA in early September and InnoTrans every two years in September. On those days, the Messedamm exit backs up between about 8 and 10 am, and taxi queues at the rank after closing time can be long. Book your return to BER ahead so the car is waiting at the entrance you name. All fairs at a glance: Berlin trade fair taxi.

Meter, fixed price and the exhibitor's luggage
A taxi from the BER rank runs on the meter for the full 40 km, and a jam on the A100 shows up on the bill. With a pre-booked car you see the total for the vehicle before you confirm, pay online and receive a receipt for expenses. Exhibitors with roll-ups, sample cases or a team of four can pick a minivan.
