Terminal 1 is the main building
Terminal 1 is the large main building at Berlin Brandenburg Airport and handles most of the traffic. The airport railway station sits beneath it on level U2, with arrivals, departures and the retail and dining levels above. If you are being met here, know which level the meeting point is on: escalators and lifts separate the arrivals level from the forecourt, and the wrong floor easily costs ten minutes.
Taxi rank or pre-booked pickup
Terminal 1 has an official taxi rank in front of the building, where taxis run on the applicable Berlin tariff, with no advance booking but equally no commitment on vehicle size. A pre-booked ride works differently: meeting point, vehicle and price are fixed beforehand, and your driver waits at the place named in the confirmation. Which suits you better depends on luggage, group size and arrival time.
