Four ways into the city
BER essentially offers four options: regional and S-Bahn trains from the station beneath Terminal 1, buses including night services, a taxi from the official rank, and a pre-booked private ride. They differ less in destination than in three respects: whether you have to change, whether the price is per person or per vehicle, and whether capacity is fixed in advance.
At night and with heavy luggage
Public transport thins out for late arrivals, with night services running at longer intervals. Taxis wait at the rank around the clock, though with no assurance that a larger vehicle is available. A pre-booked ride, by contrast, is only there if it was confirmed, but then with a set vehicle. So check when booking your flight how you will leave the airport after midnight.
