About BER to CityCube Berlin
The CityCube Berlin is a modern congress and event building at the south end of the Messe Berlin grounds, on the site of the former Deutschlandhalle. Its flexible halls host large international congresses, corporate events and parts of trade fairs.
Where exactly is the CityCube?
The CityCube stands at the southern end of Messedamm in Westend, on the edge of the Messe Berlin grounds. Its neighbours are hub27 and the exhibition halls around Entrance South; the Messe Süd S-Bahn station is a short walk away. The building's address is on Messedamm, so name "CityCube, Messedamm" rather than just "Messe" – otherwise you may end up at Entrance North, a long walk away. How long does the taxi from BER take?
Expect 35 to 40 km and, outside rush hour, 40 to 55 minutes. The route follows the A113 and then the A100 westwards to the Funkturm junction, which sits right beside the CityCube. On weekday mornings the A100 slows down around Tempelhof and Schöneberg, and on the first day of a big congress the Messedamm exit adds its own queue. For an 8 am registration, landing the evening before is the safer plan.
On site: where the car lets you out
Your driver stops on Messedamm in front of the building. During large congresses, organisers often set up a marked drop-off area and direct cars there; if your delegate information mentions one, pass it on to the driver. Bring your registration confirmation and badge details in hand luggage, not in the suitcase in the boot.
Suitcases at a congress: a short checklist
- Ask the organiser whether the cloakroom accepts suitcases; many congresses only take coats and small bags.
- If you arrive on the morning of the event, consider a hotel stop on the way. Hotels around Ku'damm and City West are 10 to 15 minutes from the CityCube by car.
- Travelling with a team and presentation material? A minivan has room for roll-ups, poster tubes and laptop bags.
- Enter your flight number so the driver sees any delay and adjusts the pickup time.
Berlin or Brandenburg taxi? The BER rank in brief
BER lies just outside the city limits in Brandenburg, and the taxi rank is served by both Berlin and Brandenburg taxis. They charge by an official meter tariff, so the fare for the long drive to Westend only becomes clear at the CityCube kerb. Leaving the CityCube for BER
When a congress ends, hundreds of delegates want a car at the same moment, and the queue at the taxi rank grows fast. Book your return trip in advance, with the CityCube on Messedamm as the pickup point and a time that leaves a buffer for the A100 in the late afternoon.
