How much does a private transfer to or from BER cost?

The booking form shows the total for your selected ride before you complete it. “From €59” is a starting price for selected one-way partner rides, not a Berlin taxi fare. Child seats, larger vehicles or extra waiting can cost more.

How do I pay for the ride?

The initial booking is paid online. Credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay may be available. Cash and bank transfers are not accepted for an initial online booking; the payment step shows which options are available to you.

How much does extra waiting cost?

If the driver is able to stay longer, current charges are €6 per additional 15 minutes for a sedan, €9 for a minivan and €12 for a minibus. Extra waiting is not guaranteed; contact your driver through the details in your booking if delayed.

Can I cancel my booking?

Under the booking partner’s current terms, cancelling at least 24 hours before pickup gives a choice of a coupon for 100% of the transfer value or an 80% refund. No compensation is offered for cancellation within 24 hours. Check the terms of your particular booking before paying.

When is my ride confirmed?

Check the route, date, local time, passengers, luggage, selected extras and total price before completing the booking flow. You then receive a confirmation. Driver details may arrive in a further message after assignment.

Can I change the pickup time, destination or passenger count later?

You can request changes through “Manage your booking” on the booking partner’s website or in its app. The change cutoff depends on the destination; changes after it are only possible by exception. A different vehicle or extras may change the price. Check all details before paying where possible.

Two different legal categories

In Germany, Uber is not a taxi operator but a platform that passes rides to licensed private-hire companies. Different rules apply to those than to taxis: private-hire vehicles may not be hailed in the street, may not wait at taxi ranks, and must in principle return to their operating base after a ride unless a new booking is in hand. Taxis, in turn, are bound by the fixed tariff and an obligation to carry passengers.

Pricing and availability

A taxi fare follows the tariff and is therefore independent of demand. Platform bookings show a price in advance, but it can vary with demand. At the airport there is the added point that taxis wait at the rank while a booked private-hire car still has to drive there. A pre-booked transfer, meanwhile, is there at the agreed time and states the price before you book. Which fits depends on whether flexibility or predictability matters more to you.
