Matching the seat to the child
Child seats are chosen by the child’s height and weight. Toddlers need a seat with a harness, older children a booster with a backrest so the vehicle belt runs correctly across shoulder and hips. A seat that does not match the child’s size does not do its job. So state not only how many children are travelling, but their ages and approximate heights.
Wait for confirmation before booking
Child seats are not standard equipment carried by every vehicle. They are recorded as a request during booking and are then confirmed or declined by the booking partner. Wait for that confirmation before making firm plans, and check it in your documents. If you are bringing your own seat from the plane, state that too, as it counts as a piece of luggage.
